New for Nov. 08:

Welcome to my little spot on the web!

Return visitors may notice that most of The Book Worm pages have been deleted. I resigned from that column to make time for other projects.

One of those projects is featured on this page . . . My new book coming to amazon.com very soon!

My Bio has been updated to include current projects and to reflect that two of my beloved cats are no longer living.

Digging the Dirt has also been up-dated. That column now runs once a month, and the newspaper has changed names.

If this is your first visit, and you are interested in checking out some of my writing: Click Here.

Publishers (of books and newspapers) as well as Nurseries and Garden Supply Businesses interested in networking will find a quick guide right here.

Information for new visitors:

For a good read check out a sample copy of my old book review column, The Book Worm, or my ongoing gardening column Digging the Dirt.

You will find some of my poetry on this page and on the Poetry page.

Information on my Native herb gardening book can be found on the In Print page.

Links to more of my writing can be found on both the Words and Credits pages.

A little information about me, as well as some pictures can be found on the Bio page. An additional photo is on the bottom of the Credits page.

Words

are a poet’s playthings
the reviewer’s rivets
a writer’s wrenches

each one has a history
stretching back into the misty past
born of an idea
a moment communicated
with gesture
body language
facial expression
vocalization

the sound became distinct
and then divergent
shared across cultures
growing in meaning
from vague
to precise
and back to inexact

eventually
they met with quills
printing presses
radio waves
the internet

eventually they came
to my ears
my voice
my fingers
and i was blessed with
